On 21 February 2026, at Orthofan’s headquarters in Civitella del Tronto, the course ‘SMART Dental Practice – Indicators and Management Control’ was held, a training day dedicated to practice owners who wish to transform their professional reality into an efficient, structured and numbers-oriented organisation.
The course, with limited enrolment to ensure maximum interaction, explored the key economic, organisational and commercial KPIs essential for monitoring the profitability and sustainability of a dental practice.
Among the topics covered:
- correct incidence of fixed and variable costs in relation to turnover
- remuneration and margins of collaborators
- setting budgets for services and periods
- incentive schemes for staff
- analisi dei dati commerciali e strumenti di business intelligence
- commercial data analysis and business intelligence tools
Particular attention has been paid to the concept of planning and management control as a concrete lever for increasing productivity and margins, avoiding a ‘by sight’ management of the firm.
The course was led by Dr Dario Di Carlo, a management consultant specialising in management control for dental practices and dental laboratories, who provided practical tools that could be immediately applied to the participants’ everyday work.
