Palatal Anchors and Digital Innovation: High Participation at Orthofan’s Educational Event

The educational event organized by Orthofan on palatal skeletal anchorage—one of the most innovative and strategic topics in modern orthodontics—concluded with a high turnout and to everyone’s satisfaction.

The guest speaker at the event was Dr. Giuseppe Perinetti, a leading expert in the fields of orthodontics and palatal anchorage, an adjunct professor at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, the author of numerous international scientific publications, and a speaker at courses and conferences in Italy and abroad.

During the evening event, held at the Breaking Business Hotel in Mosciano Sant’Angelo, Dr. Perinetti guided participants through an in-depth overview of the evolution of skeletal anchorage using orthodontic mini-screws, explaining its fundamental principles, clinical applications, and the latest digital innovations introduced in 2026.

Particular attention was given to modern digital workflows, guided planning for mini-screw placement, and the use of 3D guides—tools that are transforming the approach to many orthodontic treatments thanks to ever-increasing levels of precision, predictability, and clinical efficiency.

The meeting also explored some of the most common and significant applications of palatal anchorage, including:

  • palatal expansion in adolescents and adults;
  • orthodontic distalisation;
  • support for third-line treatments in growing patients.

The response from the dentists in attendance was extremely positive: many professionals expressed great interest in both the scientific content and the practical, hands-on approach adopted during the presentation.

It is thanks to the enthusiasm generated during the evening that plans are already in place for a future practical course at Orthofan, scheduled for early 2027, with the aim of offering participants an even more hands-on and in-depth experience of the clinical use of palatal anchorage.

Through initiatives such as this, Orthofan reaffirms its commitment to continuing professional development and the dissemination of the most advanced technologies in the field of orthodontics, creating opportunities for professional development focused on innovation, clinical quality and collaboration between specialists.
